I have got to dig my Bread machine out of the garage, it has been there for at least 5 years since we remodeled the kitchen. I had forgotten how useful those Bread Machines can really be, and with your book, I could make a new bread every few days or so. When ever I do make bread I have been doing it all by hand. Thanks so much Susan Kitchen Aid French Bread Loaf I made it by hand and it turned out great.
I still have use of my hands, just not the strength and they tire easily. I take breaks alot which can make for a long day prepping things for canning and of course kneading bread. I like kneading. I go to my zen place. LOL. Very relaxing to me.
If you are disabled in your hands, the bread machine would be ideal. You just throw in the ingredients and push start, then 3 or so hours later, you've got bread!
I know what you mean. I did not know it they had a dough only setting. I have had surgery on both hands . If not for that I would bake much, much more. Next trip to town I will pick me one up! Thanx for the info, Susan!
I think my bread machine is my favorite appliance. I can use it to mix and knead the bread, then it will bake it, or I can use the dough-only setting to shape and bake my own loaves. It's a real time saver. I use it at least twice a week.
I've tried almost every one of these recipes. I think the English Muffin bread is still on my list to try. But all the rest of them are tried and true. I love baking bread, too. I do it every week. I have a loaf of sourdough in the bread machine right now.
