I was taught how to cook and bake by both of my grandmothers. I would walk home from school and stop in to see my father's mother everyday. She would always be in the kitchen cooking up something. She had me come over on Saturdays to help bake pies and cakes for the week. She would invite family over on Sundays to eat and we always had plenty fixed. My other Grandma would have us out for the day also. She would cook up a meal that would feed a crew. She also gave me many of her recipes. I only hope my granddaughter has fond memories of us baking, as I do when I was young. I miss them both.
