Tuna Noodle Casserole
This week, it’s the easy train for me. I have a TON of other things I’m trying to get done right now… Most of it will be going up in the Etsy store. Hopefully, I can make me some money this holiday season. At the very top of my Christmas wish l
TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE
Ingredients:
– 1 lb of Spiral Egg Noodles
– 1-2 cans of tuna, drained
– 1 small package of frozen peas (my momma uses a peas and carrots mix sometimes to change up the flavor a bit.)
– 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
– 1 cup cheese or crushed corn flake cereal, if desired.
Directions:
1. Cook your egg noodles according to the directions on the package. Drain. Butter if desired.
2. In a medium bowl, mix tuna, frozen veggies and soup well. Stir in approximately 1/2 to a full soup can of milk to thin if needed. You can also steam the frozen veggies, if you want to skip reheating the casserole at the end.
3. Combine noodles and sauce. Mix well.
4. If desired, bake 15-20 mins at 350°F to warm. Or heat in the microwave on high for 3-5 mins until casserole is hot.
5. You can sprinkle cheese or crushed corn flake cereal over the top if desired.
Serve and enjoy!

I love this recipe. Growing up the youngest of 9 kids on a middle class income it was a staple in our house, especially during lenten season. We called in tuna noodle hotdish. Thanks for sharing! I got your link thru lambaround!

For the sauce I would make a rue using equal parts of flour and butter. Then using four tablespoons of the noodle water I would mix in Cheddar Cheese, American Cheese and milk or cream and combine over medium heat until combined. I would use this ove

Hi Krista : ) Are you using a 1 lb. box of noodles? Will it come out nice & creamy by only adding one can of Mushroom soup to everything? Do you bake yours covered or uncovered? Tuna casseroles are my passion and I’ve tried many, but they all used

I usually use a 1 lb package, but we like ours a little thicker. I add about half a (soup) can of milk or so. My mom adds a whole can. I bake mine covered with the glass lid for the casserole dish, but I’ve done it uncovered too. If you like a crea

Doris,
You don’t have to bake it after it’s all mixed together, unless it’s not as warm as you would like it. I usually don’t bake it. After it’s all mixed together, it’s the perfect temperature for my kids. If hubby or I want it warmer, I warm

You have condensed cream of mushroom soup in the ingredients, but uncondenced in the directions. I am confused about that.

That is confusing. I apologize. I’ve updated the recipe and it should be easier to follow now. Thanks for letting me know about the discrepancy. Enjoy and let me know if you have any more questions!
