A nice side dish for most dinners. Also a good way to use those aging vegetables found in the vegetable bin. Kids will love them.

Ingredients For toasted carrots

  • 1 bunch carrots
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 stick butter, melted
  • 1/2 C. corn flakes, mashed

How To Make toasted carrots

  • 1
    Scrape and wash carrots. Cut carrots lengthwise. Boil them until tender (15-30 minutes) in water containing 1 tsp. sugar. Just before the cooking is completed, salt the water. Drain. Roll in butter, then in corn flakes and brown in oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes..
