1 large head broccoli, washed and florets removed and chopped into small (1/2- to 1-inch)pieces

1/4 teaspoon red chile pepper flakes or 1 small, dried red chile pepper (peperoncino), crushed between your fingers

Fine sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
