1 1/2 tablespoons bean paste
1 1/2 teaspoon hot bean paste or chili garlic sauce
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons soy sauce
8 plus 6 cups water
2 tablespoons Chinese cooking wine
1 tablespoon sugar
2 star anise
2 tablespoon green onion, chopped
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
Black or white pepper
