2.5 oz shortening (cold & cubed)
1/2 cup ice water
5 cups rhubarb
5 cups strawberries (quartered & hulled (from about 1 1/4 lb))
3.75 oz brown sugar ((1/2 cup),packed )
3.5 oz granulated sugar ((1/2 cup))
1.6 oz E-Z Gel ((2/3 cup), see Note below)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
1 large egg (lightly beaten)
