shrimp & bacon gumbo
This is just a recipe I found on the box of Zatarain's Gumbo Mix, but I'm posting it because I want to save it for family, and sometimes they change the recipes they print on their packages. We love this one.

Ingredients For shrimp & bacon gumbo

8 slicebacon, cut into 1-inch pieces

1/2 cchopped celery
-
1/2 cchopped onion
-
1/2 cchopped bell pepper

6 cbroth or water
-
1 pkgzatarain's gumbo mix with rice
-
2 csliced fresh or frozen okra
-
1 lbmedium shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/4 cchopped green onions
How To Make shrimp & bacon gumbo

1Cook bacon in dutch oven or large saucepan on medium-high heat until crisp. Add celery, onion, and bell pepper. Cook and stir 3 minutes until vegetables begin to soften.

2Stir in broth or water, and Zatarain's Mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 minutes. Add okra and shrimp; cook 10 minutes longer or until rice is tender and shrimp turn pink, stirring occasionally.

3Sprinkle each serving with green onions.
