My mom who was born and raised in Germany has been making this soup for as long as i can remember. This is one of my favorite soup, especially when it gets co oler out.

Ingredients For mom's german potato soup

5 lbspotatoes, medium

6 mdcarrots, chopped

4 mdturnips chopped

4 mdparsnips

4 mdcelery chopped small

1 bunchscallions chopped

1 mdonion chopped

4 smvegetable boullion cubes

4 smchicken boullion cubes

1 pkgbacon cut into thin pieces

1 pinchsalt (if needed)
How To Make mom's german potato soup

1Place all chopped vegetables into large pot, add enough water to cover the vegetables. Bring to a boil, then add the bouillion cubes. lower the flame and cook over low heat for about 2-3 hours, then add the Bacon.....cook an additional hour.....also add more seasoning if needed.
