Ingredients For hot and sour meatball soup

  • MEATBALLS
  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef, pork, chicken, or turkey
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh cilantro minced
  • 3 Tbsp
    minced green parts of scallions
  • 1 Tbsp
    ginger grated
  • 1 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • SOUP
  • 6 c
    chicken stock
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili garlic paste
  • 2 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 c
    chopped shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 lg
    carrot thinly slice
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced ginger
  • 1 tsp
    sesame oil
  • white parts of scallions diced
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 2 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 2 lg
    eggs beaten
  • cilantro for garnish

How To Make hot and sour meatball soup

    Mix the ingredients together for meatballs. Roll into balls and set aside. Bring the chicken stock to a boil.

    Add the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, sesame oil, and lime juice. Bring back to a boil. Add the meatballs. Let cook for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms, scallions, and carrots. Cook 5 more minutes. Add the vinegar. Carefully whisk in the beaten eggs.
