Ingredients For fresh tomato soup

1/4 cbutter, divided

1 smonion, chopped

1 lbfresh tomatoes

1bay leaf

3 Tbspflour

2 1/2 cwhole milk

salt and pepper, to taste
How To Make fresh tomato soup

1Add half the butter to a large pot. Add the onion and saute for 6 minutes. Add the tomatoes and bay leaf. Cook for 15 minutes.

2Add the other half of the butter to a saucepan. Mix in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly add the milk and cook until thickened.

3Remove the bay leaf from the tomato mixture. Place the tomatoes in a food processor and process until smooth. Press through a fine mesh strainer into a clean pan. Place over medium heat. Stir in the milk mixture. Cook for 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper
