Wanted to make something warm and comforting for rainy days. So, I came up with this recipe. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients For french onion soup

32 ozbeef broth
-
4sliced large onions
-
1 cbutter or margerine
-
4 cupshot water

1 pkgdry onion soup mix

8 slicesswiss or gruyere cheese

4 slicefrench bread toasted
How To Make french onion soup

1Melt the butter in a heavy stockpot sprayed with cooking spray. Carmelize the onions in the melted butter on the stove until they are golden brown.

2Add the beef broth, hot water, dry onion soup mix and bring it to a boil. Toast the french bread slices while the soup is simmering.

3Simmer all the ingredients at least 30 minutes. Serve it up in individual ovenproof bowls. Top with the french bread then layer 2 slices of cheese on top. Broil in the oven until the cheese is melted. Broil time varies for each oven. Serve and enjoy!
