This recipe was given to me by a sweet woman my son works with. She made it for him almost every week in the winter. He works outside for a commerical roofer, and this soup warms him up. Thanks Theresa

Ingredients For broccoli cheese soup

1/2 cbutter, cold
-
1onion (chopped)
-
1(16) pkg frozen chopped broccoli

4 canchicken broth
-
1lb loaf of velveeta cheese (cubed)

2 chalf and half
-
1 Tbspgarlic powder
-
2/3 ccornstarch
-
1 cwater
-
1 pkgcheddar cheese
-
1 pkgmozzarella cheese
How To Make broccoli cheese soup

1In a stock pot, melt butter over medium heat. Cook onion in butter until softened. Stir in Broccoli and cover with chicken broth. Simmer until broccoli is tender. 10-15 minutes.

2Reduce heat and stir in Velveeta cubes until melted. Mix in half and half and garlic powder.

3In a small bowl, stir cornstarch into water until dissolved. Stir into soup, cook stirring frequently until thickened, add cheddar and mozzarella cheese to taste.
