Ingredients For black eyed pea gumbo

  • 2 can
    black eyed peas, undrained
  • 2 can
    rotel tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 lb
    hamburger meat, browned and drained
  • 1 pkg
    frozen seasoned mix (picsweet)
  • 3 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 16 oz
    frozen vegetable gumbo mix
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp
    louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 can
    chicken broth
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make black eyed pea gumbo

  • 1
    Saute the picsweet mix in margarine until tender. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and hot sauce.

    Stir in browned hamburger meat.

    Add chicken broth and tomatoes.

    Add gumbo mix and stir until all is mixted well.

    Add rotel tomatoes and black eyed peas. Stir well and cook until bubbling. Serve over hot cooked rice.
