This recipe was handed down to me by my father. His father used to make it for him when he was a boy. You could subsitute the meat for pork, chicken or even vension. Goes good with fresh baked bread or rolls.

Ingredients For asparagus soup

1-1 1/2 lbfresh aspargus
-
1 lbground chuck
-
1medium onion chopped
-
1 canbeef broth, reduced sodium

1large bay leaf
-
1 canwater
-
1-16oz. canstewed tomatoes
-
1-12oz. cantomato juice
-
2 Tbspbeef boullion
-
1/2 tspthyme, dried
-
1/2 tspmarjoram, dried

slat and peper to taste
How To Make asparagus soup

1Brown meat and onion in skillet. Drain any grease.

2In a cooking pot add all ingredients except for the asparagus and cook for 1/2 hour on medium to low heat (do not boil)

3Wash and cut up the asparagus into bite size pieces.

4After 1/2 hour is up add the aparagus to the pot and continue to cook for another 1/2 hour or until vegetable is done.
