Ingredients For chili with a twist

1 lbground chicken/ ground turkey 90% lean or higher

1/2onion, chopped

4 clovegarlic, chopped
-
1green pepper, chopped (can also sub. for a frozen bag of peppers and onions. i get mine from kroger)

1 can46 oz tomato/vegetable juice (you can also use a 32oz bottle)

2 canof beans (your choice) rinsed
-
1 cof corn (canned or frozen) i like to use the kind with jalapeno pieces
-
1/4 tspsalt and pepper each
-
1/8 tspground red pepper (more or less)

1 Tbspground cumin (more or less)
-
1 tspchili powder (more or less)
-
1/4 tsponion powder
-
1 tsppaprika
-
dashof garlic salt
-
sour cream (optional)
-
shredded cheese (optional)
How To Make chili with a twist

1FOR CROCK POT: start off by browning your meat until there is no longer any pink. Add onions, garlic and peppers and saute for a few more minutes.

2Transfer to a crock pot then add all ingredients besides cheese and sour cream.

3Cook on LOW 5-6 hours or until beans are thoroughly cooked.

4FOR STOVE TOP: repeat step one only this time using a deep pot. Add all ingredients except sour cream and cheese.

5Cover and simmer about 30 minutes. Garnish with sour cream and cheese!!
