Ingredients For chicken broth

  • 2 1/2 - 3 lb
    bone-in chicken pieces
  • 2
    celery stalks, with leaves, cut into chunks
  • 2
    medium carrots, cut into chunks
  • 2
    medium onions, cut into chunks
  • 2
    bay leaves
  • 2
    chicken bouillon packets
  • 1 tsp
    chicken seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    parsley
  • 1/2 tsp
    coarsely ground pepper
  • 2 qt
    cold water

How To Make chicken broth

    Place all ingredients in a large pot. Slowly bring to a boil, reduce heat, and skim off any foam.

    Cover and simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

    Remove chicken and set aside.
  • 4
    Strain broth, discard vegetables and seasonings, strain again. Refrigerate to allow fat to rise and harden. Skim fat from surface before using.

    Remove meat from bones and save for another use, if desired.
