This is about the only recipe that I use the tougher round steak for. I use a ton more diced potatoes than my Father-in-law does.

Ingredients For dad's german goulosh

  • 4 lb
    round steak cubed
  • 2
    large onions, chopped
  • 10
    large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    paprika

How To Make dad's german goulosh

  • 1
    Brown round steak cubes in olive oil. Then add onions and saute. Put into large crockpot with 12 cups of water, salt & pepper. Cook over night until meat is tender. Add cubed potatoes and cook until soft. Add paprika and enjoy! Some people add sour cream to their bowls of soup.
