Another of Mark's family recipes. I have never made it because I never liked the flavor of prunes...but he swears it is amazingly good! I will take his word for it...LOL He says this makes an excellent winter soup.

Ingredients For zupa z suszonych sliwek (prune soup)

  • 1/2 lb
    pitted prunes
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1/2 lb
    rhubarb, cut up
  • 2 c
    boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 2/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    cold water
  • 3/4 c
    sour cream
  • croutons

How To Make zupa z suszonych sliwek (prune soup)

  • 1
    Soak prunes in 2 cups of water overnight. Cook in the same water for 30 min. Cook rhubarb in 2 c boiling water for 10 min. Combine. Run through a sieve or puree with a blender. Add cinnamon, cloves, sugar and flour mixed with 1/4 c cold water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Cool slightly, add sour cream. Serve after the main course.
