Back when we used to host dinner parties, this was a soup that Barb made and everyone enjoyed.

Ingredients For sherried cheese soup, barb's

1/2 cfinely chopped onions

1/2 cbutter

2/3 cflour

2 tspchicken stock base (4 envelopes herbox brand)

1 tspdry mustard

1 tsppaprika
-
1 tspseason salt

5 cmilk
-
1 1/2 cdry sherry
-
2 cshredded cheddar
-
2/3 ctoasted almonds
-
1/3 ceach: chopped green pepper, and pimiento

2/3 ccrisp cooked bacon
How To Make sherried cheese soup, barb's

1Cook onion in butter until soft but not brown. Blend in flour and seasonings. Gradually stir in milk. Cook until it boils and thickens. Stir in sherry and cheese. Heat until cheese melts. Serve hot with remaining as condiments.
