Ingredients For potaje de garbanzo

2 pkggarbanzo beans, dry

1 lgchorizo

1/2 lbcooking ham, not sweet

1/2chopped onion

1/2chopped green pepper

3garlic cloves
-
1bay leaf
-
1 tspall purpose seasoning with azafran(in your spice section)

2culantro leaves

2diced potatoe
-
1 smdiced squash

1 Tbspolive oil
How To Make potaje de garbanzo

1soak the garbanzos for at least 4 hours

2I use a pressure cooker, and pressure cook for 30 mins...however...you can slow cook longer, or just use 2 large cans of garbanzo in salt water.

3in a saute pan, add olive oil...and all the ingredients ( minus the potatoes and squash) and saute...put in the pot of beans and add the potatoes and squash.. simmer for an hour,until all the flavors come together...mmmm, comfort food at it's best....
