This is a gumbo that I make, that's catered to our personal tastes. It's more of a Cajun Gumbo, mostly because it's spicier, and uses sausage. I do not use okra (i love it, hubby doesn't), and add other veggies, most people don't

Ingredients For jenn's hearty gumbo

1onion, chopped
-
1bell pepper, chopped

3stalks celery, chopped

5carrots, cut into 4 inch "fingers"

6new potatoes, quartered

1 canbaby corn, drained

6 cwater
-
2 crice
-
cajun seasoning to taste
-
1 lbsausage, cut into quarters

1 smbag of frozen broccoli flourets

How To Make jenn's hearty gumbo

1cut sausage into quarters, bite sized pieces, and brown in a stock pot on med high heat.

2Add onions, bell peppers, and celery, cook until onions are clear

3Add the rest of the ingredients, including the rice. You can add a bit more water if you see the water has evaporated too much.

4Serve with extra cooked rice, and hot french bread.
