A family favorite in my home for years. My three sons think this is wonderful. Who would of knew a few ingredients and PRESTO, a wonderful soup. Taste better the next day when all the flavors have melded together.

Ingredients For hot doggity dog soup

  • 8 lg
    potatoes (peeled/cubed)
  • 1/2 c
    onion (chopped)
  • 8 c
    water
  • 2 can
    cream of tomato soup
  • 16
    hot dogs (sliced)
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 4-6 dash
    tabasco sauce (optional)
  • 1 pkg
    beef stew mix
  • 1
    beef/chicken bouillon
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make hot doggity dog soup

    Saute onion in butter, until tender.
  • 2
    In a large saucepan over medium high heat, combine the potatoes, onion, seasonings, and water and boil for 15 minutes, or until tender.

    Add the tomato soup and the hot dogs and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the hot dogs are heated through.

    Believe it or not this recipe does not need much seasoning. The hot dogs give it a unique taste.

    Note: garlic/onion powder, garlic/onion salt, red pepper or any of you favorite seasonings can replace the beef stew seasoning.
