This is a really great Garam Masala spice mix that my cook gave me when I lived in India. It's wonderful when making Indian food.

Ingredients For garam masala (indian spice mix)

1 Tbspblack pepper, ground

1 Tbspcardamom, ground

1 Tbspcayenne pepper

1 tspcloves, ground -- only a teaspoon

1 Tbspcoriander,

1 Tbspcumin, ground

1 Tbspfennel seeds, ground

1 Tbspginger, ground
-
1 Tbspnutmeg, ground
How To Make garam masala (indian spice mix)

1Mix all spices together in a small bowl Transfer to an airtight bottle/container for storage Store in a cool dark place Use in curries, dal, chickpea/choly dishes...any Indian recipe that calls for Garam Masala

2If you don't have ground spices, you can put everything into a coffee grinder or break everything down with a mortar and pestal.

3REMINDER...if you use a coffee grinder, don't use the one you grind your coffee with as you will not want to use it to grind coffee again; unless you like Garam Masala flavored coffee.
