1/2 galwater

1bay leaf

2 tspthyme, dried

1 Tbspworcestershire sauce

5 lbonions julienned

1/8 cbeef base (paste)

1/8 cchicken base(paste)

1/2 cred wine

1 ccream sherry

1/4 cbutter

1/2 cflour

1 sliceswiss cheese

1 sliceprovolone cheese

How To Make french onion soup au gratin

1Saute the onion until they are light brown.Add the flour to the onions and mix in well.

2Add the onions to a large stock pot and the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil.

3Then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer 1 hour. Put soup in a soup crock and add croutons,cheese.

4Put under a broiler or a toaster oven until cheese is golden brown. Then serve.

5Soup can be frozen and served at a later date.
