My husband loves sausage so revamped a recipe I saw. It's really filling but not heavy at the same time. Really warms you up on a cold night! Enjoy!

Ingredients For ciao bella sausage soup

1 1/2 lbsweet italian sausage, removed from casing

1/2 cdry white wine

6 cwater

28 ozcan diced tomatoes, with juices

1 can(18.5 oz) progresso vegetable classics french onion soup

1/2 tspbasil, dried
-
1/2 tspfennel seed, crushed

1/4 tsppepper
-
3beef bouillon, cubes
-
1 Tbspworcestershire sauce
-
1bay leaf
-
1/3 corzo pasta
-
4 cfresh baby spinach, roughly chopped
How To Make ciao bella sausage soup

1Brown sausage in a dutch oven or large pot on medium heat. Break up sausage as it's cooking. Drain excess fat. Return sausage to the pot. Add white wine and allow to reduce for 3-5 minutes.

2Add water, tomatoes, soup, basil, fennel, pepper, bouillon, worcestershire sauce and bay leaf on high. Allow to come to a boil then reduce to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes.

3Add orzo pasta simmer for 15 minutes until pasta is done. Add spinach just until wilted.

4Discard bay leaf and serve. Goes great with focaccia bread I posted a recipe for.
