Ingredients For christmas eve soup

  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup carrots, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teapoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup cooked ham, cubed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 oz. pkg. shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make christmas eve soup

    Combine veggies, water, salt and pepper in a large soup pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until veggies are tender.

    Stir in ham; set aside.

    In a separate saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk; bring to a boil.

    Cook and stir for 2 minutes, until thickened. Stir in cheese until melted; add to veggie mixture and heat through.
