chicken cheese soup

This is a favorite at our school luncheons and was a great way to convince my son that he likes vegetables. It isn't a healthy dinner but good and hot way to fill our bellies while working on the farm in our cold winter months. (we just moved onto a farm in Upstate New York from Kansas)

Ingredients For chicken cheese soup

  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/3 c
    carrots, chopped
  • 1 bunch
    green onions, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    celery, chopped
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 4 c
    millk
  • 4 c
    chicken broth
  • 16 oz
    cheese whiz
  • 2-3
    chicken breast, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper

How To Make chicken cheese soup

    Saute onion in butter in large pot
  • 2
    Add carrot, celery, green onions, and water. cook till tender.

    Mix together flour and milk then add to large pot.
  • 4
    Add chicken broth, cheese whiz, chicken, dry mustard, and cayenne pepper. Heat till hot but DO NOT BOIL. Enjoy
