Even though I live in Maine, I love chowders. I just tried this Rhode Island seafood chowder and I'm still smacking my lips from last night.

Ingredients For narragansett bay seafood chowder

1onion, chopped

1 Tbspbutter
-
1 cwater, fish stock or 1 cup clam juice and 1 cup of water

2 cdiced potatoes

1 clobster meat or shelled shrimp

6 ozbay scallops or cut-up sea scallops

1/2 lbhaddock, cod or flounder fillets

2 clight cream or half-and-half
-
salt and pepper to taste

chopped fresh parsley to garnish

sprinkling of paprika
How To Make narragansett bay seafood chowder

1Saute onion until tender in butter. Add liquid and potatoes and simmer 10-12 minutes.

2Cut rest of seafood into chunks (except bay scallops, if using) and add. Heat for 2 minutes and stir in cream, salt and pepper. Heat.

3To serve, sprinkle with parsley and paprika.
