We love crabs here in Southern Maryland! One of our favorite ways to serve crab is in Cream of Crab Soup. Whenever we have crabs, we try to have some leftovers so we can make this savory soup.

Ingredients For cream of crab soup

  • 1/4 c
    onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 c
    celery, finely diced
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    corn starch
  • pinch
    each salt, pepper, garlic powder, old bay crab seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    chicken boullion granules
  • 1 c
    crab meat
  • parsley, fresh
  • old bay crab seasoning

How To Make cream of crab soup

  • 1
    Saute onions and celery in butter until soft
  • 2
    Mix corn starch into milk and add milk mixture and cream to vegetables
  • 3
    Stir in seasonings and boullion
  • 4
    Bring to a low simmer, simmer, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes
  • 5
    Add crab meat and heat only until hot
  • 6
    Serve immediately in warm bowls and top with parsley and more Old Bay Crab Seasoning.
