Ingredients For low sodium tomato soup

  • 2 Tbsp
    reduced calorie margarine, or unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp
    prepared minced garlic
  • 1 tsp
    each dried basil, mrs dash
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    low sodium tomato juice
  • 1 c
    skim evaporated, or regular skim milk
  • dash
    black pepper

How To Make low sodium tomato soup

  • 1
    In a medium saucepan melt margarine, and add garlic and herbs
  • 2
    sautee over medium heat for 1 minute
  • 3
    slowly stir in flour, to make a rue
  • 4
    slowly add tomato juice , stirring constantly, boiling until it thickens
  • 5
    stir in milk and heat thru, adding pepper to your own taste

    Calories : 400 Sodium: 475 this is my calculations using a regular soft margarine. I have calculated as best as I could with the nutrition facts on packaging
