How To Make creamy cheddar cheese soup with homemade croutons

1In a saucepan, saute onion and pimientos in butter for 5-7 minutes

2blend in flour and then add stock and cream--cook until thick--add cheese and stir until melted--add 1/2 cup green onions, salt and pepper to taste and cayenne pepper if desired

3allow bread crumbs to sit overnight to become stale--heat oil to 350 degrees and add bread cubes and fry, stirring constantly until browned (takes no time at all) remove and drain on paper towels. season and serve--I personally just like these seasoned with salt--ladle soup into a bowl and serve with some croutons on top
