Ingredients For cabbage soup

2 Tbspbutter

1 cchopped onion

2 cshredded cabbage

1 10 oz boxfrozen lima beans

1 csliced carrots
-
1 cdiced potatoes

1 cchicken broth
-
1 tspsalt

1 stickbutter

1/4 cflour
-
1/4 tsppaprika
-
1/4 tsppepper
-
3 cmilk
-
1-4 ozshredded cheddar cheese
How To Make cabbage soup

1Saute onion in 2 tbsp butter in a large heavy sauce pan until tender.(3 mins). then use a large pot, add onion, cabbage, lima beans, carrots, potatoes, broth and salt. Cover, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1/2 hr or until potatoes 7 carrots are tender.

2Meanwhile, melt 1 stick butter in a 4qt dutch oven. Blend in flour, paprika & pepper. Remove from heat, stir in milk, gradually. Heat to boiling stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute.

3Remove from heat. Stir in cheddar cheese, gradually, until melted.Return to heat to finish melting cheese, if necessary.Do not boil. Add vegetables with liquid to cheese soup base. Serve with hot biscuits.
