I love tomato soup and grilled cheese but once in a while I like to kick it up a notch and have this yummy tomato chowder. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ingredients For santa fe tomato chowder

  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 4 lg
    ripe tolmatoes chopped
  • 15 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1 c
    frozen corn kernals
  • 1/4 c
    chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 Tbsp
    cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 c
    monterey jack cheese
  • 1 md
    ripe avocado peeled and chopped, optional
  • 1 1/3 c
    french fried ,onions, optional

How To Make santa fe tomato chowder

  • 1
    Melt butter in large saucepan;saute garlic for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes.Stir in 1 cup water, tomato sauce,corn,cilantro,hot sauce and chilli powder. Bring to a boil high heat. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes. Spoon soup into serving bowls; Sprinkle with cheese. Also with avocado and fried onions if desired.
