Ingredients For wild game chili

  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground venison
  • 2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 c
    chopped green sweet pepper
  • 2 md
    jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 can
    (15 to 16 oz.) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 can
    (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
  • 1 c
    prepared sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 c
    beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano flakes
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make wild game chili

  • 1
    Heat oil in 4-quart Dutch oven over medium heat. Add venison, onion, sweet pepper, jalapeno peppers and garlic. Cook until meat is brown and onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients (except cheese). Bring to a boil; reduce heat; simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Serve with cheese.
