My Mother Was A Cook And She Used To Make The Best Chili Ever. This Is As Close As I Can Come To Making Her Chili. I Hope Everyone Will Enjoy This Recipe Too! It's Easy To Make And So Good, And This Is Santa's Favorite Chili Here At The North Pole!

Ingredients For paul's best chili ever

  • 1 1/2 lb
    hamburger
  • 1 lg
    onion, diced
  • 3 lg
    celery stalks or 1/4 tsp. celery salt
  • 3 can
    14.5 ea. diced or stewed tomatoes
  • 2 can
    16 oz. dark red kidney beans
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 or 2 md
    green peppers, chopped
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 can
    27 oz chili beans in chili sauce mild sauce or hot
  • 1 can
    10 3/4oz tomato soup
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder

How To Make paul's best chili ever

    Melt butter in deep pan & brown onion, celery & green pepper. Add hamburger, brown meat. Drain off grease. Add 1/2 tomatoes and simmer 1/2 hour. Mix in rest of ingredients and simmer 1 hr. more.

    comment: Put kidney beans & chili beans in the last 45 min. of simmering, to keep from over doing them. One other thing if you like it hotter! Add tabasco sauce to taste.

    Note: I use 3 stalks celery but you can use 4-6 also I do not use the red pepper in mine because my wife doesn't like it too hot.
