This is a thick chili with a lot of beans. You can put less beans in and it comes out fine.

Ingredients For lynda's favorite slow cooked chili

  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 2 clove
    garlic..minced
  • 2 can
    (16oz ea) dark red kidney beans..rinse &drain
  • 2 can
    (16oz ea)light red kidney beans.rinse & drain
  • 2 can
    (14.5oz)chili ready tomatoes
  • 1 can
    (15oz)pizza sauce
  • 1 can
    (4oz)chopped green chilies
  • 4 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt (i omit)
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper

How To Make lynda's favorite slow cooked chili

    Cook first 3 ingredients until the meat is no longer pink.(Drain)
  • 2
    Put in a 5 quart slow cooker,stir in remaining ingredients.

    cover and cook on low 6 hours.
