This is my Son's favorite chili. It just spicy enough for him. He has me add a Habanero for good measure...lol! This can be cooked on the stove or in a crock pot. I have made it in both... either way its a mighty tasty dish...Enjoy!! My photos

Ingredients For chorizo chili

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground chorizo or other spiced pork
  • 2 - 3
    jalapeno's chopped, with or without seeds and membranes
  • 1
    habanero pepper, fresh, chopped ( optional )
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 2 - 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 15 oz
    can black beans, drained and crushed - can add more if you like
  • 11 oz
    corn, drained - canned or frozen
  • 30 oz
    can tomatoes, crushed
  • 15 oz
    can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp
    ground oregano
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 Tbsp
    hot chile sauce or asian hot sauce
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar

How To Make chorizo chili

  • 1
    Chop onion, peppers,garlic.
  • 2
    Place meat in Dutch oven or similar on stove top burner. Brown meat on medium heat setting for 5 to 7 minutes. Add the vegetables and cook till tender, drain.

    Add all other ingredients in crock pot or dutch oven to finish cooking.

    Cook for 4 hours on low in slow cooker or cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours on medium to medium low heat on stove top burner.

    Enjoy...make this chili as hot or mild as you like, depending on the amount of peppers and spices you use.
