I have made this recipe for years. I got it from nowhere. I just make it the way I like it! Hope you do too. I make it for the hunters at the lodge & they all ask for my recipe. I like adding shredded cheddar cheese when I eat mine. Sometimes less is more!

Ingredients For chili at it's best

  • 2 1/2 lb
    hamburger or deer burger
  • 2 md
    onions, cut in slivers
  • 3 lg
    cans chili beans
  • 3 can
    red beans
  • 3 can
    pinto or the equivilent of home cooked pintos with juice
  • 2 can
    diced tomatoes- chili style or stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 -2/3 jar
    great value (walmart) chili powder- i use more like almost 2/3

How To Make chili at it's best

    In large dutch oven or stock pot, brown your burger adding just enough oil to keep from sticking if necessary.

    When almost browned, add your onions & continue cooking until onions are just translucent.

    Add the chili beans.

    Add the pinto beans.

    Add the red beans.

    Add the diced tomatoes & chili powder & bring to a boil.

    Turn the heat to low & continue cooking & stirring with lid off for about 30-60 minutes, until chili becomes thick.
  • If this don't warm your innards, nothing will!

    I like to add shredded cheddar to my bowl of chili when I eat it. Enjoy!!
