Ingredients For sweet & sour soup

  • 3 c
    chicken stock
  • 2
    boneless chicken thighs cut into chunks
  • 1 c
    peeled deveined shrimp
  • 1/2 c
    each shredded carrots, & sliced shiitake
  • 1/2 c
    cubed firm tofu
  • 1 Tbsp
    black bean sauce
  • 1 c
    sweet and sour sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 2 lg
    eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp
    white pepper & sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    potato starch
  • 4 Tbsp
    water
  • chives for garnish

How To Make sweet & sour soup

  • 1
    Add the chicken stock to a large pot. Bring to a boil, add the chicken pieces, shiitake, carrots, and tofu. Simmer 3 minutes. Add the black bean sauce, sweet and sour sauce and vinegar. Cook 1 minute. Add the shrimp and bring to a boil

    Slowly drizzle in the beaten eggs while stirring constantly. Mix the potato starch with the water and then mix into the soup to thicken

    Add the white pepper and sesame oil. Top with chives for garnish
