danish dumplings
(2 ratings)
I got this cherished recipe from my ex-mother-in-law who was a fantastic cook! This recipe came across the prairie with her Danish Mormon ancestors. I drop these into leftover-turkey soup and they are unbelievably delicious. My turkey soup consists of diced potatoes, onions, carrots, celery, turkey and lots of chicken bullion. Make sure it's boiling when you drop the dumplings in it and they will cook quickly!

1 cmilk
-
1 tspsalt

How To Make danish dumplings
-
1In a separate bowl have the flour, sugar and salt combined. I do this to keep the consistency throughout the dough.
-
2In a medium saucepan, heat butter and milk until it froths up to the top of the saucepan...when it rises up remove from heat and turn off the burner.
-
3Add the flour mixture to the liquid. Mix thoroughly and it will ball up.
-
4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
-
5Drop by spoonfuls(I use two spoons to scoop and drop) to soup or steamed milk and cook until they come to the top.
