Ingredients For chicken noodle soup

  • 3 lb
    chicken, pieces
  • 6 c
    chicken broth
  • 2 lg
    celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 c
    carrots, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp
    basil
  • 1/4 tsp
    rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    egg noodles

We boiled 3 bone-in skin-on chicken breasts for the soup. The broth will boil away while cooking the chicken and the egg noodles will absorb it too. So, keep an eye on the soup as it cooks. You'll have to add a little more broth or water as it simmers.

    In a Dutch oven cook chicken until tender.

    Remove chicken from Dutch oven. Let cool and remove meat from bones.
