This is a nice slow cooker soup. I like soups and slow cooking is the best. I like having dinner waiting on me when I get home.

Ingredients For savory tomato beef soup

  • 1 lb
    beef stew meat-cubed
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 4 c
    beef stock
  • 28 oz
    tomatoes, canned and cut up-undrained
  • 1 c
    sliced carrot
  • 1 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/4 c
    snipped celery leaves
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    marjoram, dried-crushed
  • 1/2 tsp
    basil, dried-crushed
  • 1/4 tsp
    savory dried-crushed
  • 1/4 tsp
    thyme, dried-crushed
  • 1/8 tsp
    mace
  • several dash
    hot pepper sauce

How To Make savory tomato beef soup

  • 1
    Trim fat from meat. Place oil and meat in skillet; brown meat and drain.

    Place browned meat in slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients.

    Cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.
  • 4
    Skim fat off of soup and stir soup well.
