Ingredients For sauerkraut soup

1 lbsauerkraut

1/4 lblean ham, diced

2potatoes, peeled, grated and soaked

salt

1/2 tspcaraway seeds

1 Tbsptomato paste
-
1 tsppaprika
-
3 slicebacon
-
2 lgonions, chopped
-
6 cbeef stock
-
2beef frankfurters, sliced
How To Make sauerkraut soup

1Simmer sauerkraut with 3 cups of stock for 30 minutes.

2Saute onions with bacon until golden.

3Add paprika, remaining stock, tomato paste, caraway seeds and salt to taste.

4Add sauerkraut, stock and drained potatoes, and simmer for 30 minutes.

5Add more stock if necessary to make 6 cups.

6Add the meats and cook long enough to heat through (about 10 minutes).
