Ingredients For mushroom and onion brown gravy

  • 1/2 lb
    mushrooms, sliced and pieces
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    beef base
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    kitchen bouquet
  • 4 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 lg
    onion, sliced

How To Make mushroom and onion brown gravy

  • 1
    In a skillet over medium high heat, cook the onions and the mushrooms in 2 tablespoons of butter or pan dripping (grease from meat you are going to put the gravy on) for 2 minutes or until tender.

    Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. When the water begin to boil, mix the beef base and stir.

    In a bowl, add 2 cups of hot water and stir flour into. Don't leave any flour clumps. Mix in the kitchen boutique

    Add the mixture in the bowl to the mixture in the skillet that's boiling. Reduce the heat to medium. Cook 4 minutes or more, or until it thickened whisking constantly.
