Ingredients For meatball stew

1 lbground beef
-
1/4 cfine dry bread crumbs

1/4 cfinely chopped onion

1egg, slightly beaten

1 tspsalt
-
2 Tbspshorteneing
-
2 cv-8 juice
-
1 cthinly sliced carrots
-
1 Tbspsugar
-
1/8 tspbasil leaves,crushed
-
1 cansmall whole potatoes, drained

2 Tbspflour
How To Make meatball stew

1In a bowl, mix thoroughly ground beef,bread crumbs,onion,egg and salt. Shape into 16 meatballs. In skillet, brown meatballs in shortening; pour off fat. Add 1 1/2 C. V-8 juice,carrots,sugar and basil. Cover; cook over low heat 15 minutes. Stir occassionally. Add potatoes, cook 5 minutes or until done. Blend remaining juice into flour until smooth, slowly stir into sauce. Cook, stirring until thickened.
