1 lblean ground beef

2 Tbspvegetable oil

1 mdonion, chopped

1green bell pepper, diced in 1/2-inch pieces

1red bell pepper, diced in 1/2-inch pieces

1 smsweet potato, peeled, diced in 1/2-inch pieces

1 lggarlic clove, minced
-
1 Tbspchopped fresh parsley

1/2 tspgranulated sugar

1/8 tspground cumin
-
1 tspsalt
-
3 cbeef broth, heated
-
1/2 lbzucchini, diced in 1/2-inch pieces

1 cwhole kernel corn
-
2 Tbspraisins
-
1/2 tsptabasco pepper sauce

1 smpear (firm but ripe), diced in 1-inch pieces

6 ccooked white rice
How To Make farmer's stew - argentina

1In large saucepan, boil water.

2Remove saucepan from heat.

3Add ground beef, stirring to break meat into little pieces. Let sit 5 minutes, stirring once or twice, until most of pink disappears from meat. Drain meat well, discarding water.

4In large deep-sided skillet or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat.

5Add onions and cook 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until onions are limp and slightly brown.

6Mix in blanched beef.

7Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until all liquid has evaporated from pan and meat is lightly browned, about 10 minutes.

8Reduce heat to medium. Add bell peppers, sweet potato and garlic.

9Continue cooking and stirring mixture 5 minutes or until peppers and potatoes are slightly tender.

10Add parsley, sugar, cumin and salt. Stir and cook 1 minute to blend flavors.

11Pour beef broth into skillet.

12Add zucchini, corn, raisins and Tabasco pepper sauce.

13Simmer gently 10 minutes, being careful not to boil.

14Add pear and simmer 10 additional minutes or until all fruits and vegetables are tender.

15Ladle over rice.
