split pea soup with ham
This is an easy soup recipe. I like to just combine the ingredients in the crock pot and go about my day. Add garlic bread and a salad and your meal is complete.

3carrots, diced

3celery stalks, diced

1large onion, diced

3cloves garlic, minced

1 tspblack pepper

1 tspdried thyme

8 cchicken broth

4 cdiced ham

20 ozbag hurst's green split peas with ham flavor
How To Make split pea soup with ham

1Saute carrots, celery and onion in olive oil for 3 minutes, then add garlic and continue to saute for additional 2 minutes. Add pepper, thyme, broth, ham, split peas (with seasoning packet) and stir well.

2Bring to a boil then reduce to medium-low heat, cover and simmer for 45-60 minutes or until peas are tender.

3Instead of cooking on top of stove, you may put all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low 7-8 hours.
