Ingredients For pea and ham soup

    dried peas
  • 1/2 c
    diced ham (or a ham bone)
  • 1
    large onion
  • 6 c
    stock

How To Make pea and ham soup

    Soak the peas as directed on the bag.
  • 2
    Dice onion and saute in a little oil or pork fat.
  • 3
    Add peas, stock, and ham bone. Cook until peas are soft, about one hour.
  • 4
    Remove ham bone and remove meat from bone, chop. Puree peas. Add ham meat. Heat.
  • 5
    Serve with a little cream or parsley as garnish.
