12 cchicken stock

2 Tbspbetter than bouillon chicken bouillon

2ham hocks

1 Tbspolive oil

1red onion chopped

1/2 cdry red wine

6 clovegarlic minced

2bay leaves
-
2 sprigrosemary

4 sprigthyme

1red chili pepper seeded and dices

1/2 csugar
- FOR THE SOUP
-
415 oz cans black beans
-
1 lgonion diced
-
1 Tbspbutter
-
2 cfrozen corn
-
2 cham cubed

salt to taste
How To Make ham and black bean soup

1For the broth Place the oil in a large pot. Saute the onion for 3 minutes. Add the garlic and saute another minute. Add the red wine and let most evaporate.

2Add the chicken stock and bouillon. Add the ham hocks and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 2 hours. Strain the broth and discard the solids.

3Add butter to a pan and add the onion. Saute the onion until it is browned. Add the onion to the broth. Stir in cans of beans undrained. Add the corn and ham. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat and simmer 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt.
